In order to insure long-lasting life to your MINIMAESTROTM diapers, it is very important that you follow these care instructions:
-
Make sure that the size of your diapers and inserts is appropriate prior to washing since no exchange will be accepted on washed products.
-
Wash your diapers and inserts at least once (twice or even 3 times is strongly recommended) before using them for the first time.
-
The diapers and inserts get to their maximum efficiency after 6 to 8 washes.
-
Do not use zinc oxide base cream directly on the micro fleece. If necessary, place a biodegradable insert between the diaper and baby's bum. Please note that using MiniMaestroTM diapers considerably reduces diaper rash probabilities.
-
When the diaper is soiled, empty into the toilet, separate the insert from the diaper and put everything in a dry pail. Soaking is not recommended.
-
Don’t let your dirty diapers stand for more than three (3) days otherwise an ammonia smell may develop and it is difficult to get rid of it.
-
Fold the laundry tabs to prevent entanglement in the washing machine or the dryer. Press firmly to insure they remain closed.
-
Wash your diapers with laundry soap approved for cloth diapers. Natural laundry soap does not mean it is fine to wash your diapers with. Even natural soaps can build up on your diapers and cause funk.
-
Run a cold rinse cycle with no detergent. If you have a HE washer, set the spin speed to 'very low' or 'no spin'. This “fools” the washer for the next cycle (wash) by making the load heavier, hence will add more water. More water is essential for a good cleaning of cloth diapers.
-
Run a hot cycle with mild detergent and rinse in cold water. If you have a top load washer, set the water level to 'high', if you have a HE washer, turn on the 'water plus' setting. An extra cold rinse cycle will help eliminate soap residues.
-
Do not use too much soap (¼ to ½ the recommended amount). Soap residues reduce the efficiency of the diaper and cause irritations and bad smelling.
-
DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER OR DRYER SHEETS.
-
Tumble dry on low temperature or hang to dry.
-
Dry in the sun as often as possible. It eliminates stains and bacteria naturally.
-
Do not use bleach.
-
Do not dry clean.
